THE SUEZ MAIL.

Thk Suez mail arrived unexpectedly to-day by the ASP. Co.'s*steamer the Southern Cross, which left Wellington a few hours after the arrival of the Tararua, on the 7th. instant. It is somewhat strange that no word of the mail having beea by the Southern Cross had been telegraphed to Auckland, and up to this morning it was expected by the s.s. Wellington the day after to-morrow.
