(From our own Correspondent.) This day. The Charges against Pavitt. lhe Supreme Court was occupied all yesterday with the trial of Frederick Pavitt, for embezzlement of money, the property of bhe Church trustees. 'He was found guilty on two counts in the indictment. A point of law was reserved for the judgment of the Court of Appeal. Mr Joynt, prisoner's counßel, applied to have his client admitted to bail, but the Judge peremptorily refused the application. The prisoner, it is understood, will plead guilty to the other indictments, the same point being reserved. Pavitt was brought up thi3 morning and Mr . Joynt, as counsel, requested the Judge not to postpone sentence and withdrew his objections which were to go to the Court of Appeal. The prisoner pleaded guilty to a iresh indictment, and was sentenced to five years on each charge, making ten years in
