LATE SHIPPING.
The ceremony of christening Mr Dolald^ new schooner, at Mr Bailey's yards, Nortl| Shore, this morning, was performed thia morning by Mrs Donald, who gave the vessel the name of the ' Agnes Donald.' The following are the dimensions of the vessel: — Length of keel, 67ft; beam, 19ft; depth of hold, 7ft 9in; registered tonnage, about 60 tons. Strength of build is the chief characteristic of the * Agnes Donald.' Her timbers are of choice pohutakawa of extra size, being Bin square. She is double framed, with planking, of 9in. by 3in. at bottom ; bilge streaks 12in. by 3in. J and topsides planking, 6 in. by 3 in. i7 Most °f [&? planks are from 40 to 50 feet long. The treenails are of hardwood. The vessel is copperfastened throughout. She has a very snug little cabin with 5 trunks and lockers all round. The rigging, which is of first-class duality, was imported from England. Ihe sails are of Mr Donald's own make. Captain McCabe, of the schooner Rover, who has an interest in the vessel, will take command. The Agnes Donald is intended, to supersede the Rover in the East.Coast trade, that vessel being {found too small. We must congratulate" Mr. Bailey on turning out such a smart looking craft.
