(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Tuesday. The Resignation of the Ministry. There has been a change of Ministry. The •members of the Vogel Government tendered their resignation to the Governor en Saturday. His Excellency, having accepted of the same, entrusted the Hon. Dr. Pol Jen Pollen with the task of forming Ihe "new Government, which that gontleman has constituted as follows : —Premier, Hon. Dr. Pollen ; Colonial Secretary, Hon Dr Pollenj; Colonial Treasurer, Hon H. E. Aitkinson ; Minister of Immigration, Hon H. E. Aitkinson ; Crown Lands, Hon H. E. Aitkinson ; Native Minister, Sir D. McLean ; Minister of Public Works, Hon G. Richardson ; Postmaster-General, Hon J. Vogel ; Commissi°ner of Customs, Hon. W. H • Beynolds ; Acting-Postmaster, Hon W. H. ■Reynolds; Minister of Justice, Hon C. C. ■gowen. The new Ministers were sworn in to-day. As some doubts were expressed whether or not Government could meet Parliament constitutionally in the absence of the Premier, it was considered expedient, after due consideration, that the members should resign. His Excellency quite approved of the step taken. The Government, as reconstructed, admits of no question. It jg understood it is the intention of the new Government, immediately on the arrival of Sir J. Vogel,. again to resign, so as to permit him to resume his office of Premier, and appoint his colleagues. This day. The Schiller's Mails- . J|he following particulars respecting the Schist's mails are in hand. There have been seven bags of letters recovered, 20 bags o f newspapers, and 145 registered letters, There were lost four bags of letters, 32 bags of newspapers, and 352 registered letters, j ne rag for the Agent General, containing jjl the Government correspondence, has fortunately been recovered. There were 14,000 letters lost in all.
