PORT CHALMERS.

(From our own Correspondent.) This day. Voyage of the Ship Dunedin. The ship Dunedm, which arrived from Auckland yesterday, met with heavy southeasterly weather off Hawkes Bay ; she was hove to three days. Encountered another gale when off Waitaka; hove to for 24 hours. Between whiles the weather was light, with calms. Wreckage. The cutter Nautilus from'Timam to-day, reports passing wreckage off Waitaka, consisting of a beam 20ft. long, and a piece of keel, with partners attached. Sabbath Desecration. The Rev. Mr. Leeson, of the Port Episcopalian Church, delivered a stirring sermon on Sunday upon Sabbath desecration. He particularly condemned the practice of despatching steamers on Sunday, and declaimed against the grasping cupidity of owners and agents who are given to select Sunday as a preferable sailing day, and so compelled men to work to minister to the iniquitous gains of their employers. The rev. gentleman slashed right and left. The sermon being reported by the Times, quite a sensationjwas created. His outspokenness is generally commended.
