AMUSEMENTS.

BENEFIT OE MRS. SEXTIE AND FAMILY. I The effort of Mr P. Doran and his musical friends in favor of Mrs Sextie and family last night, at the Lome-street Hall, met with a hearty response. The entertainment was largely patronised by the Oddfellows and members of the Hibernian Society, who appeared with the badges of their respective orders. The programme, a lengthy one, was gone through in a creditable manner, and the various pieces we'll represented. The I singing and nigger performances of Matteson Brothers' were much approved,, also the grotesque exhibition of the Mettain Brothers, Messrs O'Eare, Doran, and Davey amused tbe audience with several comic songs which were successful in their laughter.stirring influences. Mr C. Harding} appeared, and sang "I sit and dream of thee,'" and "I'm waiting in the wild woods," in an able and efficient manner. The "Angels Form" from the opera of Sat'anella, by Master Hill was rendered with good time and taste, and was I loudly applauded. Mr A. Smith gave two comic recitations, and the band played an overture and other selections. The whole concluded with the laughable farce "Who Died First," represented by Messrs Doran, Mettaro, Mahoney. and another, and thus closed-another of the excellent Doran entertainments for the benefit; of the widow and the fatherless. LIME LIGHT EXHIBITION. Mr Dennes, of Queen-street, will give one of his popular lime light exhibitions, with ■ descriptive lecture, this evening, in the • school-room, by Eev Mr Turner's chapel, ' Pitt-street. The lecture will be in favor of ' tbe Sunday-schools of the United Methodist ■ Free Church, diversified with appropriate J vocal and instrumental music, and il] ll3*™" ! tive of the castles and abbejs of Old & England. THE DUVAI__-S. <* The sisters Duvalli made another successl ful appearance last evening at the Prince of 1 Wal.s Theatre in the "Demon Lover, or the Fair Maid of Porlici," which g_ve general satisfaction. This evening the Sisters will take their be_eti., when a famous piece, t entitled " Magic Toy-," will be presented, s into which will be introduced the sailor s f hornpipe and other dances, concluding With , a comic drama entitled .V A Night of Terror. - Prizes will also be awarded for conundrums.
