Prospects.
The Tairua lease agitation continues unabated. _ The terms of the lease are published in this morning's Advertiser, and caused general surprise, as it is certain that goldmimcg could be prevented if the lease is vaiid. .News from Tairua continues very good. The Ajax have got a splendid reef, and are likely to begin work at once. Shares sold today at the rate of £160 per full share. There is a general belief that the new field is going to be a big affair, but a good road is sadly wanted. Thames Matters. The Pumping Association are sinking splendidly. The new 18-inch lifts are acting admirably. There is no change of buckets for the last fortnight. The City of Loiulon and Queen of May are retorting to-day. Eoih look well, and will have payable leturns.
