The Ladies.
According to a London doctor, black eyes and deceit go together in women.
The Cincinnati Gazette Bays that recently, in. thia city, five women spent two long hours in making a selection «of one simple little straw hat. ' Why call him the ' groom' as eight out of ten people do ? A groom's business is to look after horses. • A bridegroom's business is to look after his wife's mother.
Nothing makes a man feel more desolate than to return home from a fashionable wedding and have his wife yell at him as soon as he gets inside the door : ' Come, now; jerk off them fine duds as quick as you can, and fetch me a Ncatfcle of coal.'
