The estate of, the late J. C. Straban, M.L.C., has been proved under £65,000. The late J. D. Pinnoek, £41.000. A School of Navigation has been formed in connection with the Sailors' Home.
One of the banks is said to be largely involved in McEwan's estate.
J. C. -P;iy has brought an action against Constable McMeckin, who arrested him in Sydney for, illegal arrest; damages, £1000. §
