(Per Press Telegram Agency.) This day. Mr James Smith's Reply to Mr Macassey-
■ The Timaru Eerald publishes a long letter from Mr. Jamss Smith in reply to Mr. Macassey, which all the three Dunedin papers refused to publish. It also has a leader on the state of the .bar and Press at Dunedin. It says inter alia : "If the charges brought against Mr Maccassey be true, he richly deserves to be ignominiously expelled from the profession of the law."
