(Per Press Telegram Agency.) >T Wednesday. JNew. Jewish Synagogue. The foundation stone of the Jewish Synagogue was laid with great ceremony. All c.enominatiODs have subscribed towards the cost 01 the building, which is to be in bluestone.
Father Chastaigner. Father Chastaigner, a much-respected Catholic priest, and long resident here, has been called by Bishop Redwood to labour at Wellington. He will piobably be succeeded in charge here by two priests. The Catholic body presented him with a cairiage and horse and £50.
