We direct attention to a thoroughly telling leader in last night's Wellington Post, which has been telegraphed to us entire. Coming so immediately after the recent experiences which we have had in Auckland, the position is very interesting. While we agree with almost all advanced by our spirited contemporary, we must take the liberty of thinking that the putting down the screw on Wellington is only a blind. Dr Pollen knows by this time of day perfectly well, that his action in that respect towards Auckland was ; illegal, and beyond his powers, but he would have it made believe that he was not showing special spitefulness to his own province, and to its Superintendent, with whom he had attempted a war of despatches, and been so miserably foiled. ,
