QUEENSLAND.
The Deceased Wife's Sister Marriage Bill has passed the second reading. A prisoner in Roma gaol, on a charge of vagrancy, is charged with, committing a murder in New South Wales four years ago. He confessed the crime confidentially to another prisoner. The Jason, schooner, engaged in the South Sea trade, was burnt to the water's edge t Maryborough. It is'reported that two lives are lost.
The Legislative Council have entirely nullified the Payment of Members Bill, passed in the Legislative Assembly, by throwing out the clause allowing members £200 per annum, Travelling expenses are still allowed.
