POLICE COURT.—THIS DAY.
(Before Thomas Beckham, Esq., R.M.)
KITTY DOUGLAS,
This woman, whose once luminous eye possessed a magnetic power of attraction for some persons, but whose eye has lost its lustre and whose face is like a faded autumn leaf, was brought up on a charge of being drunk last night in Wyndham-street.
Kitty, according to her own confession, js of Scotch descent, and claims to be a waif from a branch of the Flora McDonald family, although she was born and really christened Kitty in a little Protestant Church at Westmeath. Kifcty is said to possess peculiarities in common with minds of a superior order. She is fond of dauciDg by moonlight in the middle of the street, and never cares to sleep in a bed, but prefers the ground floor of some dilapidated wooden building. She always carries a small mirror, brush and comb, and a quantity of hair pins with her, and in the morning like a true Protestant, turns her face towards the east before proceeding on her daily tour. Kitty.was discovered dancing in Wyndham-street last night, and was taken into custody by Constable O'Reilly. Kitty said she was drunk, and was lined 10s and coats.
A WAIF OF SOCIETY.
Edward Roberts was charged with a breach of the Training School Act, by being abroad without proper guardianship.
The father said he was a sawyer, and was left a widower with five children; he was not in aj position to care for the boy, who was eleven years of age.
The Court being satisfied of the truth of the father's statement, ordered him to the Naval Training School for four years, the father to pay 43. a week towards the maintenance of the boy.
