DISTRICT COURT.
(Before. His, Honor Judge Beckham.) YESTERDAY. —(Continued. )
The action brought by Messrs Ryan and Bell against Capt. Morrison, for recovery of damages sustained by plaintiffs, was not concluded last evening. The claim was for damage done to slates and billiard tables on their passage from London in the Emily McLaren, ni which ship the defendant was master.—Mr Bell described the condition of the cases and goods when received at their stores in Vulcan Lane.-Albert Smith, cabinet-maker, surveyed the goods at the request of Mr Yon der Heyde, and observed a dent on the stringer, which must have resulted from a heavy blow.—Walter Best a receiver on the wharf, observed that ore of the cases was bent, and refused to give a clean receipt. William Andrews deposed to the position of the cases, and William Walsh proved taking the goods f 'ft-Crrug's yard,to Ryan and Soft's rtw*» »»<* «•» I'W2* X eW9 m9S
taken of them in the transit. John Slater assisted in unpacking the cases, and Edward Cotter, cabinetmaker, described the damage., Several witnesses gave similar evidence, when the Court adjourned.
