POLICE COURT.—THIS DAY.
(Before His Worship the Mayor and Dr. Home, Justices of the Peace.) William McKeon, William Hatton, Eliza McGee, and William Hatton were fined for being drunk.
NO .APPEARANCE,
Patrick Kelly was down on the sheet as guilty of possessing a dog withouta registered collar.
Defendant did rot answer when called upon, and, the charge being proved by the constable, he was fined 10s. and costs.
TURKS ASP PRAYER-MEETINGS.
Constanta Johnßon, an unfortunate woman lately brought up from Gisborne, was sent to the Asylum, as being of unsound mind. The certifying doctors were Dr. Goldsbro' and Dr. Ellis. On being questioned by the latter geiitleman, the poor creature said she had been sent by the spirits to the Turks, and also to attend prayer meetings.
