The s.s. Ladybird, Captain Andrews, arrived at the Manukau wharf at 8 30 a.m. this morning. She left Fort Chalmers at noon on the 11th ; arrived off Taranaki at 11 a.m. on the 16th, and landed mails only owing to a heavy westerly gale blowing ; sailed at 1.15 p.m. the same day, and arrived here as above. Experienced fine weather to "Nelson ; from thence had strong "W. and N.W. sale with a heavy beam sea. Passengers—Hibernicon Company (7), Mrs and Mrs Bich, Mr and Mrs Manney, Mr and Mrs Husband, Mrs Searle, Mrs Holliston, Mrs Wilson and two children, Mrs Graham and two children, Miss P. Hark, Colonel McDonnell, Messrs Harrington, H. A. Nations, Beichelt, N. Isaacs, Winter, Levy, Chapman, Bow, Casey, Dixon, Masters Buckland (2), Master Quick, and 34 in the steerage. We are indebted to Mr Dougherty, purser, for report, &c The barque Cabarfeidh was brought alongside the wharf this morning, and began discharging her cargo at once. The three-masted schooner Estelle hauled off into the stream to-day.

WThe Kate McGregor is reporbed to have been lying at the Kidnappers for nearly five weeks, and owing to the bad weather has not been able to land her timber yet. 'jj

The barque Mary Ann Annison cleared out to-day in ballast for Newcastle. She was to sail this evening.

The smart little steam launch sent off a few days ago from Messrs NiccoFs yard, has had her machinery fitted and was yesterday got under weigh for a private trial. She ran under steam down to the North Head and back. She goes very fast and her machinery works well. The new pilot schooner Vindex is now completely fitted for sea. She has all her ballast on board and will make a trial trip in a few days. The schooner Queen has cleared out for Kokiango. with a general cargo. She sails at once. Passengers: Mr Chapman, Mr and Mrs Kendall, and one other.

,The schooner Ann McLeod cleared to-day in ballast for Russell.

According to latest advices, the brig Chanticleer yr&n being everhauled in dock at Hobart Town. The Bella Mary which had not arrived home up to the Ist inst, is expected to be the next vessel to arrive In Auckland from that port. The A.S.P. Co's 8.8. Southern Cross arrived yesterday evening from Napier, via Gisborne, with a cargo of cattle and sheep. After landing her passengers,' she proceeded to Orakei for the purpuse of disembarking the live stock. The Rowena which came in last night from Tauranga brought eight saloon j'passengers, viz : Messrs Hoare, Durham, Leaf, Mahoney, Martin, Wainui, Mm Armitage and child, besides three in the steerage. She also brought a considerable quantity of cargo. The ketch Wild Duck is reported to have met with very severe weather on the West Coast lately. She was nine days off Waitara, and only yesterday succeeded In making Wanganui in a very disabled condition.
