GRAHAMSTOWN.
(From our Own Correspondent.) This day. IThe Tairua Prospectors' CaseThe hearing of objections to granting the license applied for by the Tairua prospectors is now going on. The first objection was by natives, who claimed that .the ground was theirs ; that it had never been ceded by them for goldmining; and that it was not in the gold field. The Warden stated that whether ceded or not it was within the proclamation of the field, and he should adjudicate on it, but before giving his final decision he would communicate with the Government. Woodward's objection was withdrawn. It was then arranged to take Miller's objection to the size of the pegs first as if the decision was in his favour, it would obviate the necessity of proceeding with Bergin's claim, and if defeated would withdraw Wickham's objection. The Court then adjourned for dinner.
