A Lunatic at Large
Intelligence was. received in town to-day that a man nam.d Arthur had gone away into the bu&h from Messrs Low and Motion's mill, and it was feared from his eccentric behaviour he would do himself an injury if left alone. It appears that the man referred to has been employed at the mill since last Saturday. He has not been long in the colony, and is addicted to drink. Yesterday morning he left his work and went away for the day into the bush. He stayed away all night, and re turned at six this morning in a dripping condition, having evidently fallen into a creek or water-hole. He w.os in a moat excited state, and said he was condemned to be shot at 7 o'clock. Shortly before that time he went off again, and made for the ti-tree. A man named James rode into town and informed the police, and a mounted constable has been sent out to search for the lunatic.
