This day. Intercolonial Mercantile Conferenc The Wellington Chamber of Commerce decided last night to decline to be represented at a conference of delegates from the various Chambers of Commerce in the Australian Col Dnirs, as suggested by the Brisbane Chamber. The Chamber also discussed the question of harbour and port dues, and a committee was appointed to obtain information as to the charges in other ports, and to bring those matters and increased wharf accommodation- under the notice of the proper authorities. The chairman, in' the course of his remarks, characterizeel the charges of the port as disgraceful. Captain Mclntyre said they might well be reduced one half. Another described the wharf accommodation as absurdedly insufficient.
