(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Wednesday,
Supreme Court. The half-yearly session of the Supreme Court commences to-morrow. There is a very heavy calendar, indicating an alarming prevalence of crime in the district. A quarterly sitting of the Supreme Court is deemed highly necessary. Judge Johnston arrived last night ; also barristers for defence, &c. There is no Supreme Court-house here. The sessions are held in the Mechanics' Institute.
Sudden DeathEdward Norman, the well-known artist, was found dead in Bnrke's Pass Catting. Verdict—Died by the visitation of God. Alleged Embezzlement. Thomson, charged with embezzlement of tke funds of the Artillery, was dismissed on a legal point.
