(From our own Correspondent.) This day. The Dauntless (No. 1) tribute from 28 tons produced 30ozs. 13dwts. of melted gold. The Crown Prince has cut through the No. 1 reef on the bottom level; it is 2J feet thick, and shows gold. The trial crushing from the new mineral reef in Tookey's mine is now being treated. She lode is composed chiefly of copper and mundic. It has been proved to contain gold by fire assay. The present trial is to prove whether it is of bayable quality. Auctions This Day.
Cohen's Anchor Hatel was offered for sale to-day : the bidding started at £500, and reached £675. The hotel was withdrawn by the owner at £700.
A sale of allotments in the Puriri township is now going on. Corner lots range from £15 10s. to £13 ; other allotments from £11 10s. to £6. Bidding pretty brisk.
