The above Debentures are issued under the Public Loans Act, 1572, the proceeds being required for the retirement, as provided by the said Act, of an equiva ent amount falling due in December next. The comparatively small amount of the Fiji public debts, the punctuality with which the interest on Fiji Government Debentures has hitherto been paid and with which tlio Debentures heretofore issued have been taken up when due, the suppression of the insurrection and the establishment of the authority of the Government, and the probable annexation or establishment of a Protectorate by Great Britain ustify its agents in commending these sucurities to the investing public. Each Debenture will be issued for the sum of £100.
