A correspondent at Katikati writes to the Bay of Plenty 'Times as follows : —" December 5.—1 learn from reliable authority that Mr Commissioner Puckey has arrived at Ohinemuri with cash to tho amount of £3000, and it is believed this sum will be sufficient to close the purchase of land in that district. The stubborn old Te Hira has been conquered at last; and where other persuasion failed he has been finally overcome by km. The crops in this district are looking, very favorable, and indicate a prosperous return to our agriculturists. It has seldom been my lot to view a more promising field of oats than that owned by Mr MacMillan, of Ahipatiki." Coffee.—Brown, Barrett, & Co.'s Standard Coffee is both delicious and strong.
