America demands the surrender of tbe survivors of the Virginius expedition to Cuba, and an apology and indemnification to the relations of the slain, as well as punishment of the exTCutioners. '.
America also will demand the abolition of slavery in Cuba.
The answer of Spain ; s friendly. She denies that further executions have taken place, although sixteen British subjects have actually been shot.
The Spanish Government is willing to surrender the survivors of the crew of the Virginius after their nationality has been established. America demands the unconditional surrender of the prisoners.
The bombardment of Carthagena has been commenced.
The British Parliament re-assembled on the 25th February.
