Merciiandise. i yiOTOEIAN WINES. (FROM THE MELBOURNE ARGUS.) There has been erected on tho South of the Yarra a Store House for Colonial Wines, by Messrs A. & R. Caughey, gentlemen of long standing in Melbourne. It is in fact half a Cellar; tlie roof, a hollow cistern, full of water designed to promote coolness below ; tho extent is sufficient for stowing more than a quarter of a million gallons. The Wine has to be stowed in racks from iloor to roof, making a prodigious weight to be sustained. The casks contain each from 1000 gallons down to the ordinary CO-gallon size. Adjoining is an extensive Bottling Cellar. It is a fixed rulo that no Wine leaves tlie store under three years of age, but five years is the average time allowed, and there is great uniformity in each description of Wine from year to year. Tlie stock in bulk and bottle consists of Shiraz, Hermit ge, Muscatel, Burgundy, Chassolas, Rcisling, Verdeilho, Muscot, Claret, Malbec, Matan, Frontiguae, Modoc, Hock, Chablis, Sautcrne, Madona, Maloga, Pedro.
