A Bill for the reclamation of land will be introduced at'a special session of the Council.
Mr Blackett proceeds to Wanganui for the purpose of making a thorough survey of the Wanganui River, and collect data for protective and reclamation works. It is rumored that Dr Knight, auditorgeneral, is about to retire, the vacancy to be filled by Mr Seed, Secretary of Customs. _. Flour is overstocked and unsaleable at £12 j for Canterbury ; £13 10s for Oamaru ; Adelaide (slow of sale), £18 to £19. Oats have a downward tendency; they sold at 4s 9d at auction. Good milling wheat fetches ss*2d to 5s 4d. Potatoes (old), 35s to 40s. All colonial produce is more than usually deDi'GSSGQ '*:- King,',late chief officer of the William Tapscott, has sued the Consular Agent, ,Capt Mclntyre, for the valub of a revolvergiven in his charge when the ship arrived. Fuller, the carpenter, will probably also sue for the value of a kit of tools of his taken away in the vessel.
