Mahurangi Heads, 5.30 a.m. Received Auckland, 9.15 a.m. The weather is lovely. There was great ?\j excitement over the election, such an amount of interest never having been manifested in the district over an election. The steamer Lady Bowen arrived at Mahurangi Heads shortly after one p.m. j' with voters from Auckland for Mr Palmer, r| who was supported by only one resident elector at the Heads polling place. One attempt at • personation was detected, :, ; and one case of successful personation is re- ... potted to have taken place at Warkworth. The following ia the result of the poll at the various polling-places in the district :—• Moat. Palmer.
