(Before his Honor the Chief Justice.) In re s. brooking, mining agent.
This was an opposed case. The bankrupt appeared in person. The Trustees' report stated that the bankrupt had been engaged in mining speculations, but had been very unsuccessful. His liabilities were set down at £1,300, and the assets, consisting of hook,, debts and mining shares, altogether nominal. No debts were proved, and bankrupt received his discharge.
In re peajrce Phillips. This was an application for discharge, and was opposed by Mr Eees on behalf of Mr Duder, storekeeper.
The bankrupt, according to the Trustees' report, had been a school teacher at North Shore and Pakuranga. The liabilities were set down at £33(5, and the assets nil.
Mr Joy appeared for the bankrupt. In reply to Mr Rees bankrupt said his liabilities had been accumulating for the last four 3'ears. He had carried on the business of an insurance agent for the Imperial Compan j^.
Mr llees did not press the opposition, aud bankrupt was discharged.
