PUBLIC NOTIFICATION. WHEREAS certain persona unknown have without lawfHl authoiity fc'.en Cutting and Felling Kauri and other. Timber and Underwood growing upon the Crown Lands of the Province of Auckland, and have p.'eo ?n like removed the same therefrom ; and whereas it is des'rable th/it such -unauthorised Cutting, Felling, and Bemoval as aforesaid should at once be restrained, and all persons so offending punishsd: It is now therefore hereby notified for public informotion that all persons are warned not to Damage, Cut, Fell, or Remove therefrom any Timber or Underwood of any kind whatsoever growing, standing, or lying upon the Public Lands of the said Province of Auckland ; and further, that all persons so offending against these presents w.'H be prosecuted under the provisions of "The down Lands Act, 1802," or in such other manner ?.s may be deemed most effectual in this behilf. The Chairmen and Trustees of the various Highway Boards throughout the province are hereby requested to aid and assist the Government as far rs possible by actual prohibition, and by ( ommunication to,the Government of the names of such offenders as may come i under their notice, in the endeavor to suppress the | unauthorised Waste, Felling, and Removal of Kauri and other Timber and aH CJndenvood on and from j the Lands aforesaid.
