A farthing damages has been given against Dr. Haddon for giving a certificate whereby a sane man was sent to the lunatic asylum The All England cricket match comes off on Boxing day. The special projected match between the New South Wales and the New Zealand teams, for the Victorian small-bore match fell through. They were unable to agree as to terms. On Wednesday eight New Zealand men proceeded to Ballarafc for a match with the local club, at 500 yards aud 000 yards. The New Zealand team, with the Enfield rifle, made a score of 395 points • and the Ballarat team, with the Hay rifle' made a score of 324 points, the New Zealand team thus winning by 71 points. They afterwards changed weapons in a scratch match, when the Ballarat team was successful. The Auckland, Thames, and Taranaki representatives have left via Sydney. Mr Walker and another remain for the present.
