This day. The first lodge of juvenile Good Templars in New Zealand was opened last night.
The liberation of the Tapscott prisoners will be applied for again to-day. The journeymen carpenters advertise that they will demand a shilling a day rise in wages after the first day of December. The local insurance company, meeting fell through. Another is probable. The Standard is reported to bo in favour.
Tenders are called for the erection of a new departmental building oh reclaimed lands, either wood or concrete ; also for the construction of the summit contract of the Wellington and Masterton railway.
