It is double distilled for the purpose of removing the acids and alkalies used in the manufacture of all Petroleum Oils, but which cannot be removed except by their process, 3rd. The Downer Oil being chemically pure, burns with more brilliancy of flame, consuming less oil for a , given amount of light. It .gives less trouble, because tho Lamps require less frequent filling, and the wick less frequent trimming. 4th. Although the Downer Oil costs more per gallon than other oils, it is, in the end, cheaper for the consumer, because it gives a greater amount of light with consumption of oil.
