One boat was lost, but the remaining one wasl cleared, and at <aylight on the 22nd the passengers antLcrev left the wreck. for Vatoa Island. On the 23rd the boat returned to the wreck and recovered the second boat'which had been vfoshed npbn the reef. The j crew also, saved vrhat things tbey coud, and that were of any use, but upon examining the vessd they found that she was a total wreck arid abandoned her as such. She has completely broken up. They then remained on the island until the 29th, on tha morn--inpof which the four men started in one of the beats for Lakeba, where they arrived in safety. Tie party left eleven of the ship's company oi Vatoa Island, including two ladies and a Btla boy, passengers through from Sydney. ?hey were all well. The ladies Mrs Roberion, the; paptain's wife, and -a Mrs/Clarke. The vessel had a cargo ,cconsisting of about eighty tons' of copra,, twenty tuns of oil, a teyr. r.bales of fungus, aud three thousand cooariuta. She i was bound- to .
