NAPIER.
This day. The National Bank has bought a business site to erect premises on. Races are to be held in March on the conclusion of the Colonial firing. Several Provincial works and much private work are standing still owing to the scarceness of labour.
The reclamation of the lagoon and erection of wharves have begun. The immigration telegram causes great satisfaction.
The steamer Gisborne has been laid on to trade between Napier and Poverty Bay.
