HARBOUR BOARD.
The fortnightly meeting of the Harbour Board was held at the offices this afternoon. Present : Messrs W. C. Daldy (chairman), Philips, Isaacs, Williams, Yon der Heyde, Stevenson, Eaton, Fraser, Casey, and Niccol. The Secretary read the minutes of the last meeting, which were confirmed.
LETTERS
A letter was read from the Chief Harbourmaster complaining of obstructions to Victoria wharf, which was referred to the Wharf Committee.
A sum of £42 was voted for sails for the pilot boat.
In answer lv a request From Moasra 11. Niccol and C. Bailey it was resolved to refer to the Endowment Committee the question of leasing the point North Shoro. The Tariff Committees report was read, recommending a tramway on the Victoria wharf, and other alterations to the wharves North [Shore. It was agreed to lay tho tramway. NEW T. Captain Casey moved, and Mr Niccol seconded, " That the Harbour Engineer be instructed to make an estimate of a new T, say 120 feet long by 35 feet wide, to bo built on the east side of Queen-street wharf, say 95 south of the Queen's warehouse, with a spare crane to be erected thoreon."
It was finally resolved that the matter be referred to the Works Committee to roport thereon at the next meeting of the Board. This was all the business.
