The following- are the boundaries of the chief Provincial Electoral Districts near tlie city, prercribed in the "Auckland Representation Act, 1872 " : —

CTTV OF AUCKLAND EAST—THREE JIFMIiHIS This Electoral District is bounded on the North by Auckland Harbour on the West by the centre of Queen-street on. the South by the centre r.i: Karangahapo Road and on tlie South-east by the centre of Symonds-street to the Southern ooundary of City Section 34 thence along that' boundary to the °f™£ c °. f G«"ton Road thence northerly by the centre of said road to tbe centre ol Stanley-street thence by the centre of Stanley-street aforesaid to the Southern boundary of City Section 11 thence by the Southern and Eastern boundaries of Section 11 to the Mill Stream in Mechanics' Bay aud by that Stream to the sea.

CITY OF AUCKLAND WEST—FIVE MEMBERS. Bounded towards the North by Auckland Harbour towards the East by the centre ot Queen-street towards the South-east by tho centre, of the Karangahapc Load towards the South and South-west by the centre of Ponsonby Road and towards the North-west by tbe centre of Franklin-street to Auckland Harbour tlie place of commencement.

Bounded towards the North apd North-west by high-water mark of Auckland Harbour from tlie Meola Stream to the seaward termination of Jrankim-strcet thence by the centre of Franklin-street aforesaid to its junction witn the lonsonby Road and by said road to tbe Karangahape Road thence by lvanmgalmpc Road aforesaid to its junction with Symonds-street towards the r.ast by byrnonds-street and the Cemetery Road to' the Cabbage Tree Swamp itoact towards the South-east and South'by the Cabbage Tree Swamp Road atoresaid and the Old North Road to the Meola Stream and towards the Southwest by said stream to Auckland Harbour the place of commencement.

TAKABUNA—ONE MEMBER. > Bounded towards tho North by part of the Southern boundary of the Ivaipara Electoral District already described from the Rangitopuni River to the JN orth Head of the Okura River* towards the North-east by high-water mark ot the sea from the North Head of Okura River aforesaid to the North Head of Auckland Harbour towards the South by high-water mark of the waters of Auckland Harbour aforesaid to the mouth of the Rangitopuni River and towards tho West by tho Rangitopuni River aforesaid to the Southern boundary °l Electoral District the place of commencement including the Islands ot lintin Matangi Rangitoto Motutapu Motuhurakiki and adjacent Isles.

WAITEMATA —ONE MEMBER. T . . Eounded towards the North by part of the Southern boundary of tho Kaipara Llectoral District previously described from the Muriwai River to the seaward termination of the Southern boundary of Allotment No. 1 of the Parish of Waipareira*r towards the North-east by'hitch-water mark of Auckland Harbour to the Whau Portage Road and by said road to the Manukau Harbour towards the South-east by high-water mark of the Manukau Harbour aforesaid Irom the Whau Portage Road beforementioned to the North Head of said Harbour and towards the West by high-water mark of the sea from the North Head of the Manukau Harbour aforesaid to the Muriwai Creek iirstmentioned the piace of commencement including Wood's Island.

EDEN—TWO MEMBERS. Bounded towards the North-oast by the centre of the Great South Road Irom the Southern boundary of the Parnell Electoral District before described to the centre of the Otahuhu Portage Road towards the South by the centre of the said Portage Road to the Manukau Harbour and by high-water mark of said Harbour to the Whau Portage Road towards the South-west by the Whau Portage Road aforesaid to the Whau Creek and by said Crook to the Waitemata Harbour and towards the North-west by high-water mark of Waitemata Harbour aforesaid to the Meola Stream thence continuing along the Meola Stream aforesaid to the old Great North Road and thence by the Southern boundaries of the Electoral Districts of Newton City of Auckland West City of Auckland East and Parnell already described to the centre of the Great South Road first-mentioned as the place of commencement exclusive of the Electoral District of Onehunga.

TAMAKI —ONE MEMBER. Bounded towards the North by high-water mark of the sea from the Eastern boundary of tho Electoral District of Parnell already defined to the VV estern head of the Tamaki River towards the East by the waters of tho Tamaki River aforesaid to the Otahuhu.Portage Road towards the South-oast by said Portage Road to the Great South Road and towards the South-west by the centre of the Great South Road aforesaid and part of the Southern and Eastern boundaries of the Electoral District of Parnell previously described to high-water mark of the sea the place of commencement.

PAKUEANGA—ONE MEMBER. Bounded towards the North by high-water mark of the sea from the Eastern Head of the Tamaki River to the seaward termination of the line which forms the Northern boundary of the Parish of Wairoa at the mouth of the Wairoa River towards the South-east by the Northern and Western boundaries of the Parish of Wairoa aforesaid part of the North-western boundary of the parish of Papakura and the whole of the South-eastern boundary of the Parish of Manurewa to the Manukau Harbour and towards the South and South-west by high-water mark of the Manukau Harbour aforesaid to the Otahuhu Portage Road thence by the Otahuhu Portage Road aforesaid and the waters of the Tamaki River to its Eastern Head the place of commencement including the Islands of Waiheke and Ponui Taylor's Island and Pukututu. PAPAKURA—ONE MEMBER. Bounded towards the North and North-east by high-water mark of the sea from the seaward termination of the Northern 'boundary of the Parish of Wairoa to Pukorokoro towards the South-east by the road lead'iii£> from Pukorokoro aforesaid to the Great .South I'oad towards tbe South-west by the Great South Road aforesaid from its junctiou with the Pukorokoro Road beforementioned to the South-eastern boundary of the Township of Papakura thence following the South-eastern boundary of that township to the waters of the Manukau Harbour and by high-water mark of the Manukau Harbour to the South-eastern boundary of the Pakuranga Electoral District previously described and towards tlie North-west by the South-eastern Ixmndary of the Pakuranga Electoral District aforesaid from the Manukau Harbour to the mouth of the Wairoa River at the Northern boundary of the Parish of Wairoa the place of commencement RAMARAMA —ONE MEMBER. Bounded towards the North-east by part of the South-western Ixmndary of the Papakura Electoral District previously described from the South-eastern boundary of the of tho Township of Papakura to tho Maungatawhiri River and by that river to its confluence with the Waikato River towards the Southeast by tho Waikato River aforesaid to the line of tramway known as the Mauku and Waikato tramway towards the South-west by the Mauku and Waikato line of tramway aforesaid from the Waikato River beforenamed to the waters of the Manukau Harbour and towards the North-west by the waters of tno Manukau Harbour aforesaid from the Mauku and Waikato line of tramway to the South-eastern boundary of the Township of Papakura the place of commencement. WAIUKLU—ONE MEMBER. Bounded towards the North and North-east by high-water mark of the Manukau Entrance and the waters of the Manukau Harbour to the Mauku and Waikato line of tramway and by said line of tramway to the Waikato River towards the South-east by the Waikato River aforesaid from the Mauku and Waikato line of tramway to tho sea aud towards the South-west by high-water mark of the. sea to the Manukau Entrance the place of commencement including all Islands in the Waikato River. COROMANDEL—OLNE MEMBER. This Electoral District includes all that portion of the Coromandel Peninsula lying to the North of a line commencing at Deadman's Point in the Hauraki Gulf and running thence along the range to the summit of Kakatarahaia thence by the Watershed Ranges South-easterly to the source of the Waiwawa River thence by . a straight line to the South-eastern angle of the Purangi Block thence by the Eastern boundary of the said Purangi Block to the Sea Coast, and includes the Mercury Islands and Islands in the Harbour . of Coromandel.
