P The s.s. Rowena arrived from Russell this day with a general cargo and a number of passengers ?—Mr Earle, Mr "Whitson, Miami Mrs Johnson, Mr Jackson, Mr Woods, Mr McGinn,! Mr JET. T. Kemp, Mrs Dalliston, Mrs West, Wihongi, Mr Sheriff and son, Mr S. Taiwhanga, Mr Milton, Bandolson, and 10 in the steerage. The KZ.S.N. Company's s.s. Phoebe, H. Worsp, commander, arrived at 4.45 p.m. yesterday. She left Sydney at 10.15 a.m. on the Bth instant; cleared the heads at 11 a.m. Experienced light calm weather for the first three days, then strong head-winds •with heavy sea and rain till arrival off the Manukau, at 12 o'clock yesterday. Crossed the bar at 3.30 p.m., and reached the wharf at the hour above mentioned. We are indebted to Mr W. Willcocks, purser, for the prompt delivery of our letters aiid other favors. Passengers :—Saloon : For Auckland—Mrs Wood, Captain Farquhar, Messrs Cartall and James. For Greymouth—Mr and Mrs Simpson and family. For Picton—Mrs and Miss McKay. For Wellington—Messrs Hi" and Wentworth. For Ly ttelton—Mrs Chamberlin and Mr Talbot. Steerage: For Auckland—Mr Duthie. For Nelson—Mr Bond. For Wellington—Mrs Everett and family. The following Melbourne telegram refers to the loss of the barque Anna, hound for the Manukau, mentioned in our telegram yesterday : —" The surveying steamer Victoria has arrived at Melbourne with the crew of the barque Anna, from Freemantle, bound to Manukau, leaden with jarrah timber. The Anna was wrecked on the north-west side of King's Island during a gale. The vessel is a complete wreck. The insurance on the barque is unknown, but the cargo was insured for £ICOO. The captain's wife and two passengers were also saved. The captain's certificate has been suspended for three months. The wreck has been sold for
The p.s. Charles Edwardes arrived in the Manukau this morning from Wanganui, with a cargo of cattlo.
The Wentworth is the next A.S.N. Co.'s steamer expected by the end of the month.
