RULES AND REGULATIONS. Mares and Geldings allowed 31bs. In the Selling Race the winner shall be sold with his engagements at the meeting. Any surplus above the selling price shall belong to the Auckland Turf Club, and any horse in such Selling Race, though not a winner, may, at the request of any person made to the stewards within iifteen minutes of weighing the first horse, be put up to auction in the same way as the winner, the upset price to be the amount at which he is to be sold, or entered to be sold, together with the value of the stake. Any surplus to belong to the Auckland Turf Club. In all races where a forfeit has to be paid the owner of any horse entered for any such race who shall neglect to declare and pay forfeit before 10 a.m. on the morning of the race shall be liable for the whole of the stakes unless otherwise speciiied in the conditions of any such race. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales at least half-an-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the stewards,. not exceeding 6 soys to the Race Fund. The rules of the Victoria Racing Club have been adopted, and will be adhered to as far as practicable. No entry will be received for any of the races except upon this condition—that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall bo decided by the stewards, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrying-out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary, at the olnce of the Auckland Turf Club, Duhara-street, entrance-money enclosed, with the I name, ige, pedigree of the horse, and performances; also name of the owner and colours of the rider. Any jockey I riding except in the colours entered will be lined 3 soys. All sweepstakes, unless otherwise specified, must be paid on or before 10 o'clock on the morning of , the first race-day. I .
