This day. A preliminary mooting of gentlemen, held last night, to form yet another Insurance Company, was adjourned, nothing being done. A thousand young salmon have been successfully distributed in the various rivers of the South. A grasshopper plague at Tuapeka is expected. Fat cattle are fully supplied. Prime quality, 80s to 3Ss per 1001b. Stores cows from £0 to £4. Bullocks, from £5 to £0. Wheat, prime samples, 5s 3d. to 5s fid ; medium. 4s Oil to 5a Gel; inferior, 4s to 3a ; prime milling, 4s .■id to 4s os. At a meeting of the WastejLand Board the the question of tlio destruction of forests was brought; before the notice of the commissioners. A new industry, weaving stockings, drawers, etc., has been started in Dunedin.
