POLICE COURT.
THIS DAY. Before Thomas Beckham, Esq., E.M
DRUNKENNESS
Three persons were inflicted in the customary fine for having been drunk tho previous evening. AN HABITUAL DRUNKARD. Margaret Sainsbury, one of the former offenders, was also charged with being an habitual drunkard, and with having thrice been convicted of drunkenness within tho the preceding twelve months, His Worship read eighteen previous convictions against the prisoner, and sentenced her to six months' hard labour. LARCENY.
Henry Clark, apprehended on a warrant issued by the prosecutor in his capacity of J.P., was charged with entering the dwelling house of Henry Eichmond Sayce, of Biverhead, and stealing therefrom one 5-gallonkeg of beer, valued at 12s. Gd., and one cwt. of Kauri gum, value at 205., his property on the 23rd instant. On the application of Mr. Broham, the caso was adiournpd until Tuesday, in concustody for drunkenness, and not fit to be examined.
