The Government having been empowered by special Acts of the Legislature to enter into contracts for Insurance on Lives, and for the grants of Annuities and Endowments, are now prepared to execute any of the usual contracts dependent upon the contingencies of human life. Insurances effected for the benefit of and settled on Wife or Children are free, to the extent of L 2,000 from the claims of creditors. 8. The Consolidated Revenue of the Colony is liable for all claims, in the event of the receipts, which are duly invested at compound interest, at any time being insufficient to meet the demands, thus affording the best security to the Assured.
