Evenino Star Office, Wednesday afternoon.
Sfr. G. W. Binney held to-day at his Corn Exchange an extensive sale of cheese, hams, bacon, &c. The attendance was good and competition brisk. The following prices were received: —Canterbury cheese, 4Jd. per lb,; 10 kegs butter, 3|d. to 5Jd. per 1b.,; 2 cases Gilmour's hams and bacon, 4.W1. to 9d. per lb.; Peacock's tins jams, 6s. 4d. per dozen (for 20 cases); do. jar jams, siUl. per lb. ; tart fruits, 9s. per dozen : 1,500 lbs. hams and bacon, in lots to suit purchasers, 4d to 4Jd. per lb.
