ARRIVAL OF THE PHCEBE.
The s.s. Phoebe, Captain H. Worsp, arrived in harbor this morning. She left Port Chalmers on the 17th at 6.30 p. m ; light variable winds and cloudy weather till 10 a.m. of the 18th, when it freshened into a strong breeze from the north-west, with very heavy squalls ; anchored at Port Cooper at 5.15 p.m. ; sailed at 4.30 p.m. of 19th ; northerly winds to the Kaikouras from thence light airs and calms across the Straits; arrived at "Wellington :.t 0.30 p.m. of 20th ; proceeded j at. 0.20 a.m. on Sunday, light northerly winds and' hazy ; anchored off Port Ahuriri on the 22nd. at 1.20 a.m. ; sailed from thence at 9.45 a.m. ; -north-east wind, hot weather, and smooth water; rounded the East Cape at 4 a.m. of 22nd ; passed "White Island at 2.30 p.m. on the 23rd; sighted the s.s. Star of the South bound to Napier at 1.30 ; strong westerly .vinds across the Bay of Plenty ; arrived at 9.15 a.m. on tha 24th.
