BANK OF TOKATEA G.M.C.
An adjourned meeting of the shareholders in the Bank of Tokatea GMO, was held this afternoon at the Metropolitan Hotel, Dr Lee in the chair. The former meeting had been adjourned in consequence of the non-attendance of Directors. The present meeting laboured under the same inconvenience. Ifc was said that the negligence of the Directors showed that they did not wish to be re-elected.
The chairman, however, thought that they should have attended to give an account of their stewardship; and he considered that measures should be adopted to enforce a better plan of management in future.
Mr McTarish read the report, stating the works which had been done, and showing that if those now in progress were continued, there wa3 a good prospect of profitable returns. A detailed account of forfeited shares and of unpaid calls was also read. The report showed that £43 9s 4d was due by the company, but that £46 6s 8d was due to them for unpaid calls.
The meeting then assumed a conversational turn, and was still in progress when we wont to press,
