ADELAIDE.

December 28

Bochin has been committed for trial for the murder of Guiren at Paradise.

Mr Westcott is organising a northern gold prospecting expedition. He has received very favourable concessions from the Government of Wttelorn Australia. A figurehead of a ship evidently burnt has been fouud; apparently it had not long been in the water. There were no barnacles, nor was it wormeaten. The figurehead was a seafaring man, with tlie motto ".Keep good lookout" on a scroll. It was a ship of probably 1500 tons. The figurehead was found near Gottenest Island, and had evidently been burnt away from the ship.
