SUPREME COURT.
CRIMINAL SESSIONS.-YESTER-
DAY, (Continued)
Before His Honor Sir G. A. Arney, Chief
Justice
UNLAWFUL WOUNDING.
In the case against J. S. Gibbons, a great quantity of additional evidence was taken, which to show that the skirmish occurred in consequence of disputed ownership in the logs at Whangapoua, and the wound was not serious, although painful. The men in complainant's boat had commenced the affray, and those in prisoner's had to push the boat off with their poles, fearing from the the excited state of the Kennedy's Bay natives in it that life might be lost. The court adjourned at half-past five until 10 this morning.
