Mr. S. Jones held to-day at his auction rooms, an extensive sale of groceries, tea, sugar, hops, &c. The attendance was large, and competition brisk. The following are the quotations : —207 mats fine white crystals, ss. 3 lfid. ppr lb ; 10 casks currants, sd. per lb. 15 chests tea in bond, ex Odessa, Is. sd. per lb. : 10 chests do., ex Peter, 2s. per lb. ; 60 half-chpsts, duty paid, Is. lOd. per lb. ; 150 boxes, 23s each ; 20 cases Hill and; Ledger's pickles, lis. per doz. ; 10 cases Burnett's vinegar, 9s. per doz. ; 5 ca«ks Slee's English vinegar, 2s 3d per gallon , 35 bales Tasmanian new hops, lid. per lb. ; 7 bales bacon and hams, 8d per lb.
