Five persons were punished in the usual manner for first offences.

NEGLECTED CHILD,

Jane Rudgurs was brought up under the Neglected and Criminal Children's Act.

It appeared from the evidence of Detectives Jeffery and Ternahan that the girl, who is not more than about 13 years of age, had been repeatedly found by them lateat night in bad company. She had been at service in a brothel of the worst character; and, subsequently, after the police had repeatedly warned her, the mother took her away, and sent her to another place equally bad.

Sent to the Refuge for Neglected Children for one year.

On the testimony of Drs Wright and J 11 Nicholson, a person of unsound mind was sent to the Lunatic Hospital for medical treatment.
