I beg to roturn my sincere thanka to the large number of rmepajers Avho kindly promised me their support in the approaching election of Cifcy Councillor. I beg, however, to intimate that I have retired from the content.

Agitation in the labor market is extend - ing daily; the nine hours' principle is conceded generally, the men gaining a victory; foreigners are returning home. The formidable trade disputes which occurred at Blackburn, Sheffield, Lincoln, Wolverhampton, Hartpool, Leicester, and Leeds have been settled.
